Thank you thank you thank you! LOOK AT ME WORLD I'M FABULOUS NOW

Good guys, I would have never believed in so much success for this thing, it has been a shock for me and I really fell from the chair when I saw all your comments, favourites and support! I just have to say you bunches of thanks :') and the promise that YES EVEN CHARMANDER AND BULBASAUR WILL DO SOMETHING SIMILAR SOON [or at least in the next four months pfffrt]

don't forget to check out the rest of my gallery too! I know i know only pokemon fan art is cool :P

HUH AND DON'T LURE ME TO ADD THE MEGA EVOLUTION! I know it'd be badass, but I planned this animation as it presents to your view, and it won't be cooler if I add the Mega Evo right there. Maybe in a future animation ;)

______

AND SO HERE WE ARE GOD I KIND OF LOST TEN YEARS OF LIFE DOING THIS CRAP I CAN'T BELIEVE I FINALLY FINISHED IT HOLY FUCK IT'S ALL YOURS I HATE IT AND CAN'T SEE A SINGLE FRAME ANYMORE WITHOUT FREAKIN OUT AHAHAHAAHAHHAAAAAHA

This has been just a mad idea for two long months.
... since when I started the rough animation in the late February.
... til middle April.
... in which I retook this project in hands and then cleanupped and colored it all.

I spent about 10-15 days of work in total, to render this thing as you can see it.
I involved about 98% of my total potential and skills in 2D animation/Toon Boom/After Effect/sleepless nights.

I enjoyed drawing each frame, but I also learned to hate it

:iconrlyplz:

And now enjoy the result.

:iconrlytearplz:

I think there are still bunches of errors in it,
from animated shadows to wrong color combinations,
but I really don't give a fuck anymore

This has to be among my favorite short animations on all of DA. Just your style, the lively expressions, the cartoony squash n' stretch feature, color scheme and background, and the amazing water in the end.

I hope to one day make an animation as good as this, this will have to be my set goal. But I would like to ask: How many frames per second did you use for this? (Or that you think you used if you didn't actually keep track)
It just flows so smoothly so I'm sure it's a lot.

Hi! Thank you so much for your support, it really means a lot to my self esteem in art (; I wish to have serious purposes too, one day, in a professional way.
Sorry for this belated answer, I stayed away for a while and checking all the message right now.
I always set 25 fps in timeline [standard tv rate in UE], because I use to mix the techniques and animate things in different frame rates according to my necessity. This is mainly based on 12.5 fps, except in rapid movements, in which there are about 5-10 frames that work at 25 fps.

Hey,
Thanks, glad you're happy to hear that. And yeah, your animations was so professional cartoon like, I wanted to know how your frame rate was just to know what was used to get such smooth quality. Hopefully one day talented individuals like yourself put your skills to good work in the media and I wish you luck with that!
